Are the Good Deeds of Non-Believers Rewarded?

Deeds are rewarded in accordance with the intention of the prospect.
Non believers expect their deeds to be rewarded in this life because of doubts about the existence of another life.
If you are rewarded in this life through ego based expectations, the Hereafter will be underwhelming.

The believer in contrast is striving for eternal reward in the Hereafter. This life is like a Montessori School for future princess fairy godmothers of the world.

If that’s what you strive to be, you will be. And if it’s imaginary, do the deeds, just do the deeds. And may your deeds reflect the obscurity of the Hereafter. The unknown. No expectations. Give what you can. Know you are already rewarded for the deeds you contracted to commit when you agreed to be on this earth.

Some people want to be here more than others. Like students at a school. Some students are naturally gifted, are able to pass the tests without much preparation, and get by with a solid B.

Then there are the A students.

In school I was a B student. When I graduated, dipped down to a C.

I’ve had moments of D’s and I get F’s when I need to be hospitalized.

Enough about me though, let’s get back to those interesting questions about Islam.

There are two conditions for God’s approval and reward of any deed:
+it is done explicitly for his acceptance and approval
+consistent with methods ordained by Allah.

A person must work for God as God spelled it out. Period. It’s not that deep, chill.
